In short

• I only ask for what I need to collect you, get you where you're going and keep the records the law requires.
• I never sell your details or use them for marketing.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.

Who I am

Rathangan Local Hackney is run by me, Fergus Price, in Rathangan, Co. Kildare. I am responsible for your personal information (the "data controller").

What I collect

When you book, I may receive:

• your name and mobile number
• your pick-up address and Eircode
• where you're going, the date and time, and how many passengers
• details of any return trip
• anything you choose to tell me, such as luggage, a wheelchair or walker, or a hospital appointment time
• the agreed fare and how you paid

Some of this, such as a hospital appointment or a mobility need, may be health information. Only share what you're comfortable with. I use it only to plan your trip and help you safely.

How the booking form works

The booking form on this website does not send your details to me or store them anywhere. It writes a message on your own phone or computer, which you then send yourself using WhatsApp or your text messages. Nothing is saved on this website.

Why I use your details

• To arrange and carry out your trip: to reply to you, agree the fare, collect you and drop you off. (Legal basis: providing the service you asked for.)
• To keep the records the law requires: the National Transport Authority requires me to keep a booking record for every trip (your name, contact details, pick-up and drop-off, and the agreed fare) and records of trips, fares and receipts. I also keep financial records for Revenue. (Legal basis: legal obligation.)
• Health or mobility information you choose to share: used only to help you on your trip. (Legal basis: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.)

Who else handles your details

I use a small number of trusted services to run bookings:

• WhatsApp (Meta) for booking messages, and your mobile network for texts and calls.
• Google Calendar to keep track of booked trips.
• An automated booking assistant that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help read and reply to WhatsApp booking messages and check my calendar. It will always tell you it's an assistant. I check and confirm every booking and fare myself.
• A card payment provider if you pay by card. I never see or keep your full card number.
• Cloudflare, which hosts this website, and Google Fonts, which supplies the lettering on these pages. Like any website, they receive your device's internet (IP) address when you visit.

Some of these companies may handle information outside the European Union. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

I share your details with no one else, unless the law requires it, for example if the National Transport Authority or An Garda Síochána asks to see my records.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies, tracking or advertising.

How long I keep your details

• Trip, fare and payment records: for as long as the National Transport Authority and Revenue require, which is generally 6 years.
• Other messages and notes, including any health or mobility details: deleted within 12 months of your last trip, unless needed for those records.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

• give you a copy of the details I hold about you
• correct anything that's wrong
• delete your details, unless I must keep them by law
• stop or limit how I use them
• withdraw your consent for health or mobility information

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this notice

If I change how I use your details, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
